Before you get a endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, you may want to ask about infection control procedures used at the facility. What brand will be used on you? How are infection procedures different than procedures used at two California hospitals where 12 people were infected?
According to the LA times this type of scope acquired infection is not routine because the scopes are not routinely used in more common endoscopies and colonoscopies. The only downfall is that the infective agent [pseudomonas]  is a bacteria often resistant to many antibiotics.
