At 77 years old, she goes to receive dialysis at North Texas Kidney Disease Associates in Lewisville three times per week. She’s received the treatment for eight years, saying a medication that’s now off the market damaged her kidneys.
The treatment has made her weak. Now she only drives a few blocks from her neighborhood to the pharmacy and grocery store.
